Drunk driver hits man on scooter

DAIRFIELD – On Saturday evening, a man on a scooter was struck by a vehicle while he was stopped at a red traffic light on Grasmere Avenue, waiting to turn left onto Kings Highway.

36-year-old Juan Marin who was driving the scooter didn’t sustain any injury but police charged the driver, 25-year-old Bryan Satmary of Catherine Street, Stratford, who hit him with driving under the influence, failure to drive right, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and failure to insure.

Satmary told that he had a few drinks at Chubby’s, on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport and he was driving down Grasmere toward Home Depot when he crossed over the double-yellow traffic line and struck the scooter.

Marin was also issued an infraction for not having a valid driving license.
