Pair Of DUI Crashes Being Investigated By State Highway Patrol

2 possible DUI accidents are under investigation by the Norwalk post of the state Highway Patrol.

27-year-old Nicholas J. White was charged for DUI and failure to control in relation to a Wellington Township crash. He was behind the wheel of a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. The accident happened on Friday at about 11:27 p.m. while White was travelling eastbound on Ohio 18.

According to Sgt. Kent Jeffries, White drove off the right side, overcorrected and went off the opposite side of the road, where his motor vehicle struck a sign while flipping. The vehicle was towed from the accident spot by the troopers.

He was rushed to Mercy Allen Hospital through the Southern Lorain County Ambulance as he sustained injuries.

A blood sample was drawn for the intoxication test and the result is pending.

Another accident happened in New Haven Township on Saturday around 12:30 a.m. for which the involved individual is not charged yet.

23-year-old Mitchell B. McCoy was going eastbound on Baseline Road when his motor vehicle went off the right side and hit an embankment due to which the 1997 Hyundai flipped. The accident caused disabling damage to the motor vehicle.

McCoy was rushed to Mercy Health-Willard Hospital with the help of Firelands Ambulance Service for minor injuries.

Blood was drawn to check his BAC level and McCoy’s blood-test result is pending.
