New Haven man found lying on Golf Course faces several charges including DUI
Police charged 20-year-old Tudormatei Boran with DUI and he faces several other charges following a road accident that happened in December 2012.
According to the police, a golfer saw a man lying on the ground in the woods on the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and he called the police. The incident happened on the 2nd of December, Sunday and when the police was called it was about 10 a.m.
Police investigated the whole incident; Boran told police that he had been driving home from a friend’s house on Sunday at 2 a.m. but was unsure what happened because he had taken the prescribed medicines. He was not feeling well and was searching a place to park the car and sleep but while searching for a place to park, his car got out of control and veered off of Golfview Terrance. Boran also told that the cause of the accident was the pills that he had taken before driving.
Boran was found 50 yards away from his car that had struck several trees and bushes. Police also found medications in his backpack. He was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport for the treatment of hip and leg injuries. His blood alcohol content level was tested and his medical records showed that his blood alcohol content was above the legal limit when the accident happened. Officers applied for a warrant for Boran’s arrest.
Boran was charged with DUI (driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant), failure to drive right, failure to keep prescription medications in their original container and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Tudormatei Boran of Lloyd Street was released after posting a $500 bond and he is summoned to court on 7th of March 2013.
