New Haven man arrested for alleged drunk driving in Milford

On early Thursday, a New Haven man was taken into custody for driving under the influence and according to the police, 2 swords and a machete were found inside his vehicle.

Police charged 49-year-old Willie Brooks with driving while intoxicated, carrying weapons in a motor vehicle and disobeying an officer’s signal.
Police said Brooks was seen at about 2:30 a.m. traveling outside the lines on Old Gate Lane. When he was pulled over, he refused to give a breath sample for a breathalyzer test. The New Haven man was held in lieu of $1,000 bond.
