67-Year-Old Westport Woman Charged With DUI After Evading Riverside Collision

WESTPORT – 67-year-old Ina Chadwick of Redcoat Road faces multiple charges after she was involved in a hit-and-run collision on Riverside.

According to police reports, Chadwick was travelling intoxicated at the time of the accident, after which she left the scene.

The incident took place Tuesday when a witness saw Chadwick sideswiping another car at about 9:30 p.m. on Riverside Avenue and then driving away.

Chadwick’s license plate number was reported to the police by the witness and the officers soon found and identified Chadwick in her driveway.

The officer who questioned Chadwick detected the odor of alcohol on her breath. She was issued a field sobriety test which she failed.

Chadwick faced multiple charges including operating under the influence of alcohol and evading responsibility.

Her bond was set at $500 and she was scheduled to appear at state Superior Court in Norwalk on 9 October.
