40-Year-Old Man Faces Charges Following Drunk Driving Crash

ELLINGTON, CT – 40-year-old Robert Turner III of South Windsor was arrested and charged in Ellington in connection with a drunk driving crash on Monday.

According to police reports, Turner was driving on Windsorville Road just west of Crescent Circle when he lost control of his vehicle. He then struck a tree off the right shoulder. The incident took place just before midnight.

When emergency crews arrived, Turner refused medical treatment.

The passenger side of his vehicle was heavily damaged in the crash. A passenger riding with Turner in the vehicle had to be flown to the hospital for treatment. She suffered a leg injury which was said to be non-life threatening.

After an investigation, Turner was charged with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, DWI and making an improper turn.

Turner is scheduled to face a judge in Rockville Superior court on April 15.
