37-year-old woman busted for DUI after New Year’s crash

NEW LONDON, Conn. – On New Year’s Eve, 37-year-old Rosa Garcia, of 53 Raymond St. #1 was arrested and charged for driving under the influence. Bond was set at $1,000.

Garcia was driving southbound on Colman St. As she was drunk, her car got out of control and crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Cedar Grove Ave. The utility pole broke in two. For many hours, Colman St. between Broad St. and Jefferson Ave. was shut down.

Garcia was not injured in the accident. She was charged with DUI and failure to drive right.
