School Bus Driver Had Prior DUI Arrest

1788-Tammy Costello A school bus company records were checked by the Connecticut officials after one of its drivers was charged with DUI with 20 children travelling in her bus. Authorities also learnt that the woman had been taken into custody before on a DUI charge.

On Thursday, Department of Motor Vehicles inspectors went to the M & J Bus Co.

According to a report by the New Britain Herald, the DMV asked whether there was a proper background check on the driver.

On Wednesday morning, 44-year-old Tammy Costello was taken into custody after she dropped the children off at a Farmington school, according to the police.

According to M & J officials, Costello’s 2004 DUI arrest was not on her driving record.

Records show that Costello entered an education program that resulted in charges being removed after the 2004 arrest, said the DMV officials.

On Friday, Costello didn’t return a phone message.
