School Bus Driver Charged With Drunk Driving With 20 Students On Her Bus

FARMINGTON, Conn. – 44-year-old Tammy Costello, a school bus driver in Connecticut, has been charged with DUI with 20 students riding in her bus.

On Wednesday, Costello was taken into custody after an officer saw the school bus swerve partially off a road, according to the Police in Farmington. Students also told police the bus struck some curbs.

No individual sustained injuries in the accident.

According to the authorities, Costello’s BAC level was more than three times the legal limit for commercial drivers.

Costello was released on bail and is summoned to Hartford Superior Court on Tuesday. It is not confirmed if she has an attorney or not.

M & J Bus Co. said that it suspended Costello and all its drivers are subjected to random drug and alcohol testing. Parents were informed about the incident by the school officials.
