Connecticut State Police Planning Strict DUI Enforcement Thanksgiving Weekend

A press release by the state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection showed that Connecticut State Police is planning a strict DUI enforcement on Thanksgiving weekend to keep people safe on the roads.

There will be checkpoints and roving patrols throughout the Greater New Haven area, so DUI drivers can be caught.

Extra personnel will be on duty for the DUI enforcement.

State troopers will conduct spot checks on Interstate 91 in the area of Exit 6 in New Haven, starting 6 p.m. on Friday. The checkpoint will end at 2 a.m. on Saturday.

From Wednesday to Sunday, roving patrols will be on Route 15 in North Haven, I-91 in North Haven, Route 8 in Shelton and Interstate 691 in Meriden to look for motorists who choose to drink and get behind the wheel.
