33-Year-Old New Haven Man Arrested For Deadly Stabbing

NEW HAVEN, CT – 33-year-old Daniel Streit of New Haven was charged and arrested with first-degree manslaughter Saturday morning.

The deadly stabbing incident was reported at around 10:35 a.m. at the APT Foundation, which is located at 495 Congress Ave.

According to police reports, a fight took place between Streit and the victim before the stabbing.

The victim, who was identified as 51-year-old New Haven resident Keith Wylie, was rushed to the hospital where he died shortly after.

Accounts given by eyewitnesses helped the police locate Streit who was walking on Vernon Street. He was immediately taken into custody.

A statement made by New Haven Police Officer David B. Hartman Sunday stated, “Evidence connected to the crime has been collected. The investigation continues.”
